3:00pm Sunday 29th January 2012
A TROWBRIDGE man was caught red-handed, attempting to steal £150 worth of lead, a court has heard.
On Monday, North West Wiltshire Magistrates’ Court heard that police officers spotted Aaron Morse, 29, of Woolpack Meadows, and two other men acting suspiciously in the Tesco car park in County Way, Trowbridge, at 5am on September 15.
The two other men ran off, but Morse was arrested in possession of a shopping trolley full of lead, which he had found under a nearby bridge and intended to sell.
He pleaded guilty, was given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 in costs.
